RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends approval of Bid Package #1 contract amendment with Dick Anderson Construction for $2,209,299. 

BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)

The City has a contract with Dick Anderson Construction to perform as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for this project. Dick Anderson advertised Bid Package #1 following the state required procurement process on behalf of the City. The Bid Package was advertised in Yellowstone County News on 9/30/22, 10/7/22, and 10/14/22. Bids were opened on 10/20/22.

Bid Package #1 includes demolition scope for the New City Hall project and for subcontractors to order long lead-time materials, specifically mechanical and electrical components. 

ALTERNATIVES

City Council may:
  • Approve; or,
  • Not Approve and delay the project timeline

FISCAL EFFECTS

The award of this contract will allocate $2,209,299 out of the New City Hall Project budget of $9.9M from the General Fund approved in the FY23 budget.
