RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council approve the contract with Insight Public Sector for $277,465.90 in order to replace 40 Mobile Data Terminals (MDTS) with (40) FZ40 MDTs (Exhibit A) and appropriate software licensing (Exhibit B).
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Currently the BPD has 121 MDTs deployed. The MDTs will fall out of warranty in Sep 23rd while the other warranties expired years ago. If this contract is approved a budget amendment will be needed for the purchase of these replacements, as well as provide funding for additional associated software. Software licensing for all MDTs is not included in the FZ-40 quote but will be included in the budget amendment for the total amount set aside.
