RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approved Contract Amendment #3 with Sanderson Stewart for W.O. 21-42, SBURA Gravel Streets in the amount of $249,800.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
On August 23, 2021, Council awarded a consultant agreement with Sanderson Stewart to provide design and partial construction contract administration services for Phase I and Phase II gravel and non-maintainable streets within the SBURA District boundary. Since that time, construction and construction administration services have been completed on the construction projects that installed Phase I improvements to Vaughn Lane, Mitchell Avenue and Hillview Lane. This contract amendment will provide construction contract administration services for the W.O. 23-26, SBURA Gravel Streets, Phase II project that will install construction improvements to Morgan Avenue, Ryan Avenue and Stephens Lane adjacent to Optimist Park.
STAKEHOLDERS
The South Billings Urban Renewal Association is a partner in this project. The SBURA consultant coordinator and Board have been updated regularly on this project.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve Contract Amendment #3 with Sanderson Stewart in the amount of $249,800; or,
- Not approve Contract Amendment #3 with Sanderson Stewart. If not approved, the City would have to find another method to provide contract administration services for this project.
FISCAL EFFECTS
Work for W.O. 21-42, SBURA Gravel Streets, Contract Amendment #3, was budgeted in FY24 using South Tax Increment Financing District (TIFD) Funds. Adequate funds are available for this amendment.
