RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that City Council approve a Change Order for Access Control system installation to Communication Resources. Original prime contract was $107,914.00 and change order #1 is a net increase of $39,591.00. 

BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)

On 6/12/2023 City Council approved and awarded a contract to Communication Resources to install Verkada access control system at Billings Fire Stations 1-8. After further discussion with Fire Department Administration the decision was made to include the 911 Call Center in this scope of work for continuity and increased efficiency in operations. Scope includes removal of existing S2 system and installation of Verkada system at nine doors at the 911 Call Center. Additionally, in the future Verkada cameras will be installed, and this change order is to include running of low voltage cable to ceiling locations where cameras will be installed at Fire Stations 1-8.

  • Not Approve

FISCAL EFFECTS

Change Order #1 is a net increase of $39,591.00 and will be funded by Fire Department Operations and Maintenance account.
