PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Staff is requesting that the City Council consider authorizing and executing a Contract for Professional Services with HDR Engineering to provide engineering and construction administration services for W.O. 11-08 Water Treatment Facility 2011 Transfer Pump Replacement. The purpose of this project is to replace an existing transfer pump with a new one that will have greater pumping capacity than the existing pump and be able to better match lower demand. HDR Engineering was selected for this work from Statements of Qualifications submitted for this type of project.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council May:
- Approve the Professional Services Contract with HDR Engineering; or
- Do not approve the Professional Services Contract with HDR Engineering.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for the design and construction of this project has been approved in the CIP projects (FY' 11 Water Funds $1,200,000.00). The contract with HDR Engineering is in the amount of $71,900.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council authorize the Mayor to sign a contract for professional services with HDR Engineering for W.O. 11-08 Water Treatment Facility 2011 Transfer Pump Replacement in the amount not to exceed $71,900.00.
