RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends motion to approve bid award to Tractor & Equipment Co for purchase of mini-excavator
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Approval was given in FY24 ERP to replace unit 1906-JCB Backhoe/loader with a mini-excavator.
4 bids were received from the following suppliers:
Tractor & Equipment Co. - total bid package $104,287
Bobcat of Big Sky - $119,187
Tri-State Trucking - $168,449
RDO Equipment - $189,900
With T&E Co. providing a bid significantly under the other competitors, and under available budget, staff negotiated the addition of a 63" clean-up bucket, bucket grapple (thumb), and auger attachments for a total purchase price of $118,287. Additional attachments will add versatility to the equipment and will be useful for other projects within PRPL Department.
