RECOMMENDATION
The Parks Department Staff recommends accepting the $3,900.00 donation from Yellow Ball Roofing and Solar.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Yellow Ball Roofing and Solar have donated a complete solar generating system to Songbird Community garden to be placed on the shed at the garden. The solar system would provide most of the electrical power needed to operate the garden.
Songbird Community garden is located on Park property near Norm Schoenthal Island,1559 Songbird Dr. The garden is managed by a nonprofit group under a Memorandum of Understanding with the City.

STAKEHOLDERS
The stakeholders are the gardeners who rent space at Songbird Community garden, their electrical expenses would be mostly eliminated.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Accept the donation; or,
- Not Approve
FISCAL EFFECTS
This solar system would have no fiscal effects on the City, but ill have an impact on the gardeners.
SUMMARY
The proposed solar system would be a great addition to Songbird Community garden by lowering the electrical bills.
