Recommend Council approve a donation of $3,819.20 from Partner for Parks Patriot Run grant fund for reimbursement for Patriot Run expenses to the Parks Department, Cemetery budget and the donation of $2,217.70 to be distributed as needed for veteran burials. 

On November 5th, Mountview Cemetery hosted the Patriot Run 5k to raise funds to support Veteran burial services in the Veteran section. Through sponsorships, donations, and entry fees the event raised $6,036.90. All funds were deposited into a Partners for Parks account. The total cost of the event was $3,819.20, paid from the Parks Department, Cemetery budget. Partners for Parks is donating $3,819.20, to reimburse the city for event expenses. Proceeds remaining in the fund, $2,217.70, will be donated to the city at a later date, in order to pay for veteran burial services.

 

City Council may:

• Approve; or,
• Not Approve

After all event expenses, the Patriot Run raised $2,217.70 to support Veteran burial services at Mountview Cemetery.
