RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends accepting the donation from Partners for Parks Foundation to help fund the shade shelter at High Sierra dog park.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Partners for Parks Foundation is donating $16,735.00 on behalf of Friends of Billings Dog Parks to help fund a shade structure at High Sierra Dog Park. Their donation will be matched by the City in the amount of $16,735.00 using the Parks Matching Grant Program approved in the FY23 budget, this might require a budget amendment to provide budget authority, and it will be brought to Council at a later date. The total project budget is $33,470.00 which includes purchase of the shade structure, 12'x12' concrete pad, and installation of the structure by a contractor.
STAKEHOLDERS
Partners for Parks are a stakeholder and will be providing the matching portion of the grant.

FISCAL EFFECTS
There will be matching City funds from the Parks Matching Grant Program in the amount of $16,735.00. These funds were approved in the FY23 budget but have not been spent yet. There are no additional expenses or impacts on the current budget.
SUMMARY
Users of High Sierra dog park have been requesting a shelter for a long time. Through the Parks Grant funding and Partners for Parks, a shelter is now going to be built in the park.
