RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends accepting the AARP Community Challenge grant for use at Song Bird Community gardens.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The Songbird Community Gardens non-profit organization received a grant from AARP for improvements to the community garden located on City park property near Josephine Crossing. The proposed improvements include raised planter construction, irrigation system improvements and fencing changes. The community garden's location is east of the intersection of Songbird Dr and Golden Hollow Rd. The grant award is $7,436.00 and will be used for improvements on City park property.
STAKEHOLDERS
Songbird Community Garden users will benefit from the improvements the grant will fund.

City Council may:

- Not Approve
FISCAL EFFECTS
There are no fiscal effects on the budget. This is a non-profit organization using $7,436.00 of grant money for improvements to City park property.
