RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the Water Line Agreement with The County Water District of Billings Heights for reimbursement of funds associated with work completed under W.O. 24-38: Wicks Lane Stormwater Improvements.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The City is completing stormwater improvements to Wicks Lane from Moose Hollow to the existing Yellowstone River outfall corridor east of River View Drive as part of W.O. 24-38. Additionally, included within this project is replacement of a 6-inch asbestos cement County water main per the County Water District's request. The cost to replace the water main will be entirely reimbursed by the County Water District as detailed in the attached agreement. This agreement allows the City to recover project costs related to replacement of the County Water District's water main. The County Water District has reviewed this agreement.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the Water Line Agreement with The County Water District of Billings Heights; or,
- Not approve the agreement. If not approved, the City would not be able to receive reimbursement funds from The County Water District of Billings Heights for water main replacement work associated with W.O. 24-38: Wicks Lane Stormwater Improvements and the waterline replacement work would be removed from project.
FISCAL EFFECTS
Approval of the agreement allows the City to recover approximately $252,366.40 in project costs that are associated with the water line replacement.
