PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Reporter Big Sky Office requests a street closure for a car show event on June 11, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure is for N. 14th St. between 1st Ave. N. and 2nd Ave. N. The street closure is necessary for spectators to safely access and return from the parking lot across the street from the business.
Recommended conditions of approval include Reporter Big Sky Office:
1. Provide certificate of insurance naming City of Billings as additional insured.
2. Provide and install adequate traffic barricades and signs directing motorists around closure.
3. Ensure that a clear unobstructed 10’ wide access lane is provided on the closed street to allow access for emergency vehicles.
4. Contact all businesses in the area and make them aware of the event.
5. Notify all emergency facilities, bus lines and media of the event.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are no costs to the City of Billings other than administrative time to process the permit. Traffic control and clean up are to be paid for by Reporter Big Sky Office.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the closure named above for the Reporter Big Sky Office Car Show.
