RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council approve the Purchase with Insight Public Sector for $90,353.39 to replace 15 Mobile Data Terminals (MDT'S).
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Currently, the BPD has 121 MDT's deployed. The current CF33 MDT's will no longer be serviceable after October 2025. Last year, the Billings Police Department began the three-year replacement plan for the CF33's by purchasing (40) FZ 40 MDT's. This year we have been approved to purchase and replace 15 MDT's.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the purchase with Insight Public Sector for $90,353.39 in order to replace 15 Mobile Data Terminals (MDT'S); or,
- Not Approve the purchase with Insight Public Sector for $90,353.39 in order to replace 15 Mobile Data Terminals (MDT'S) and provide further direction to staff.
FISCAL EFFECTS
Funds to purchase MDT's were approved and budgeted in the FY2025 budget.
