RECOMMENDATION
Recommend City Council review and adopt the proposed budget goals for FY2026.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
On 12-11-2024 the City Council Budget and Finance Committee met to discuss proposed budget related goals for Fiscal Year 2026. This process was developed as a result of committee discussions coming out of the FY2025 budget process. The intent is to provide some direction to Administration as we head into the budget development process, with an objective towards having a more clear and aligned budget process for both staff and City Council. At the 12-11-2024 meeting the committee members provided feedback on the listed goals, as well as suggestions of their own.
At the 1-15-2025 Budget and Finance Committee meeting, the committee members considered the combined list of proposed goals and further refined the proposed goals.
Not all goals received a majority vote, and those are noted on the document itself.
