RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve the second and final reading of the amended ordinance BMCC 18-1302 Civil Citations Service and Requirements.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
At its meeting on January 27, 2025, the City Council conducted a public hearing and approved the first reading of the amended ordinance BMCC 18-1302 Civil Citations Service and Requirements. The language changes in section 18-1302(b)(3) were made to update the current Civil Procedure Rule. The existing language was outdated.
STAKEHOLDERS
The suggested amendments to this ordinance update the language to align with Montana Rules of Civil Procedure.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve BMCC 18-1302 Civil Citations Service and Requirement on second reading as submitted; or,
- Not Approve BMCC 18-1302 Civil Citations Service and Requirements on second reading as submitted.
FISCAL EFFECTS
Approval does not have a negative impact on the code enforcement budget.
