RECOMMENDATION
This will be a discussion about the Northwestern Energy rates increases.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
NorthWestern Energy has implemented an electric rate increase for Montana customers. The PSC hearings on NWE's full rate request are ongoing and expected to conclude later this month.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council action is not required, but direction to staff may be provided.
FISCAL EFFECTS
The initial projections are that the City of Billings Departments could experience up to $1,000,000 in additional electrical fee increases.
