RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the purchase of six (6) Ford Interceptor SUV vehicles in the amount of $291,318.00 and one (1) Ford F150 Super Crew Police Responder Patrol Truck in the amount of $50,682.00 in accordance with State Bid from Duval Ford.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The State of Montana conducts an annual competitive bidding process for law enforcement vehicles. Pursuant to MCA 18-4-402, local government agencies are permitted to take advantage of the cost savings realized by the State's purchasing volume. Cooperative purchasers benefit by purchasing through State term contracts through cost savings, expedited order processing, as well as insuring all procurement is completed via proper procurement rules governed by the State and City. The Billings Police Department needs to replace (6) Patrol SUVs at $48,553.00 per unit and (1) Ford F150 Super Crew Police Responder Patrol Truck at $50,682.00 that were identified through the ERP process for a total cost of $342,000 per State Bid from Duval Ford.

ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the purchase of (6) Patrol SUVs and (1) Patrol Pick-up Truck from Duval Ford for a total of $342,000; or,
- Not Approve the purchase of the of (6) Patrol SUVs and (1) Patrol Pick-up Truck from Duval Ford for a total of $342,000 and provide further direction to staff.

Vehicles are budgeted for in the equipment replacement plan.
