RECOMMENDATION

Engage in a conversation with Derek Yeager Disaster & Emergency Services Director.

BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)

Derek has been in his new role for one year and has decades of emergency management experience throughout Yellowstone County.  I've asked Derek to share his perspective on the opportunities and challenges we face around emergency services.  I also asked Derek to discuss emergency notification. What are the best practices in the industry? What has been learned from the recent tragedies in Hawaii, North Carolina and Texas?
