The Street/Traffic Division of the Public Works Department received bids on June 14, 2011, to purchase a Flatbed Truck with Hydraulic Telescoping Crane.  This vehicle will replace Unit 1150, a 1988 Ford F900 with IMT Mdl 1295 Crane.  This new truck is included in the Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP).   The new flatbed truck will also have a 5 year warranty that will be included with the bid price.

The City Council may:

Approve the purchase of a Flatbed Truck with Hydraulic Telescoping Crane from I State in the amount of $90,384.00 plus a 5 year warranty of $1535.00: or

Reject all bids and not purchase the Flatbed Truck with the Hydraulic Telescoping Crane.

Staff recommends that the City Council approve purchasing the Flatbed Truck with a Hydraulic Telescoping Crane from  IState in the amount of $90,384.00 plus the 5 year warranty of $1,535.00, totalling $91,919.00.  Staff also recommends trading the existing Flatbed Truck Unit #1150 for a credit of $14,000.00 that is reflected in the final price of the bid.
