RECOMMENDATION
PRPL seeks Council consent to accept and utilize funds being donated by Partners for Parks. The funds donated are in the amount of $25,192.00.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This request for Council consent is to accept and utilize funds in the amount of $25,192 donated by Partners for Parks. Funds are part of the awarded matching grant program through PRPL from 2023. To not accept funds would not allow this project to be completed.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
This donation is in conjunction with PRPL's matching grant program. Partners for Parks applied for matching funds in 2023 and were awarded $25,000 from PRPL. Funds were to be utilized to purchase a 14'x14' shade structure and have it installed in Swords Park. Please see the attached file for structure location. PRPL's match to this project is $25,000.
FISCAL EFFECTS
PRPL expects minimal budget increase during the life of the structure for maintenance. PRPL does not expect to hire FTEs, any work associated with the new structure can be handled by the current assigned park attendant. The project and funding has previously been approved through the matching grant program.
