Staff is requesting that the City Council consider authorizing and executing a Contract Amendment for Professional Services with Morrison-Maierle to provide design and construction administration services for W.O. 10-08 WTF Clearwell Baffle Project. The original scope of the project was for the design and construction administration of baffle curtains in both clearwells and to repaint Clearwell No. 1 at the Water Treatment Facility . After taking Clearwell No. 1 out of service to begin the painting and installation of the baffle curtains of the clearwell, it was observed that the structural members of the roof were very rusted.  Upon inspection of the clearwell roof by a structural engineer, it was recommended that the clearwell roof be replaced and that the existing condition of the roof is not safe.  Due to the condition of the roof, the installation of the baffle curtains and the repainting of the clearwell  has been stopped until the clearwell is safe to work in.  This contract amendment is for the design and construction administration of the roof for Clearwell No. 1. 

 The Council May:

• Approve Contract Amendment No. 3 with Morrison-Maierle for design and construction administration of the roof for Clearwell No. 1; or
• Do not approve Contract Amendment No. 3 with Morrison-Maierle. Delay of the project could cause the Water Treatment Facility to fail drinking water standards during high demand periods.

 Funding for this project will be from FY 2011 Water Revenues.
