PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
A street closure has been requested for the following event:
Who: Cadillac Jax Sports Bar
Event: Grand Opening
Date and Time: Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 3:00 pm until 10:30 pm
Where: 18th Street West from Grand Avenue south to the alley
Recommended conditions of approval include Cadillac Jax
1. Provide a certificate of insurance with required liability amounts naming the City of Billings as additional insured
2. Provide and install adequate traffic barricades directing motorists around closure
3. Provide a ten foot wide unobstructed lane on the closed streets to provide access for emergency vehicles
4. Contact all property owners affected and make them aware of the event
5. Clean the area to be used after the event and provide and empty waste cans

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council may:
• Approve the request to close a section of the street for the event; or
• Deny the street closure
• Deny the street closure
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Administrative time to process the permit is offset by the application fee. Any police assistance, traffic control, and litter removal are the responsibility of Cadillac Jax Sports Bar.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the street closure named above for the Cadillac Jax Sports Bar Grand Opening event.
