2011 Loader Mounted Snowblower

PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT

Bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on August 30, 2011, to purchase a Loader Mounted Snowblower.  This purchase is included in the FY12 budget and was a supplemental budget request in the Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP).  Due to needing additional time to review bids staff would like to delay bid award until September 26, 2011.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED

The City Council may:
  • Approve the purchase of the Loader Mounted Snowblower from the apparent low bidder; or
  • Reject all bids and not purchase the Loader Mounted Snowblower; or
  • Delay bid approvel until September 26, 2011, to allow additional time to review the bids 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The City received 2 bids for the Loader Mounted Snowblower as follows:

 Solid Waste Systems  $114,298.00
 T & E  $143,021.00
   

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends delaying this bid award until September 26, 2011, to allow staff additional time to review the bids.
