Bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on November 30, 2010 to purchase two Snow Plow Assemblies with hydraulic controls.  These plow assemblies are to be used on Public Works trucks from the Water Distribution and Sewage Collection Division.  On December 13, 2010 Council approved a staff recommendation to approve the bid of $42,789 to purchase snow plows.  After the Council approved the recommendation, staff discovered an error and that the City Council approved purchasing one (1) plow and installation for two plows. The two ordered snow plows were received in January 2012 and are ready to be placed in service.  The Council is being asked to approve the purchase of the second snow plow for the bid price of $36,289.00.

The City Council May:

• Approve the purchase of the second Snow plow assemby in the amount of $36,289.00.
• Do not approve the purchase.  If the purchase is not approved, the plow assembly and hydraulic controls would be removed from the truck and returned to the vendor.
