Information

PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT

On February 13, 2012, Council passed a Resolution of Intent for the Central Avenue Sidewalks project and established a Public Hearing date of March 12, 2012. After conducting the Public Hearing, the Council must pass a resolution ordering construction of improvements in order for the project to proceed.

The project improvements include installation of curb/gutter, sidewalk, drive approaches, and street widening from 29th St W to 32nd St W.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED

The Council may:
• Pass this Resolution Ordering Construction Improvements; or
• Do not pass this Resolution Ordering Construction of the Improvements.  If the Resolution Ordering Construction of Improvements is not passed, property owners cannot be assessed and the CTEP funding would be inadequate to complete the project.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The proposed project is funded through CTEP, Gas Tax, and direct property assessments for a total estimated project cost of $360,000 as follows:

Estimated Assessed Costs $38,000
Estimated CTEP/Gas Tax $322,000

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that Council pass this Resolution Ordering Construction Improvements identified in Work Order 10-27, Central Avenue Sidewalks.

APPROVED BY CITY ADMINISTRATOR
