PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The State of Montana has $16,434 available through the FY 09 U. S. Department of Homeland Security Grant Program for the City of Billings Bomb Squad for training and for the recalibration of two SABRE 4000 X-ray machines the City currently owns. The grant period is October 29, 2009, through June 30, 2011. Staff recommends City Council approve and accept this grant in the amount of $16,434 and authorize the Mayor to sign the award letter. The award documents are on file in the City Clerk's Office.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The City Council may:
- Approve the FY 09 U. S. Department of Homeland Security Grant for the Bomb Squad in the amount of $16,434; or
- Not approve the FY 09 U. S. Department of Homeland Security Grant for the Bomb Squad in the amount of $16,434.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to the City as there is no City match required for this grant.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends City Council approve and accept this grant in the amount of $16,434 and authorize the Mayor to sign the award letter.
