The W.O. 12-23 Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks Backup Power and West Mechanical Motor Control Center (MCC-B5) Improvements project will provide a backup power feed from the existing generator in the Solids Processing Building to the Headworks area of the plant. This project will also provide a new power feed for MCC-B5 in the West Mechanical Building from another transformer since the existing transformer feeding the MCC is failing. The project was advertised on May 10th, 17th, and 24th in the Billings Times and on the City's Website. Bids were opened May 29th, 2012 and four Bids were received.  Yellowstone Electric submitted the lowest responsible bid.

The Council may:

• Award W.O. 12-23 to Yellowstone Electric in the amount of $49,656.00; or
• Not award the contract to Yellowstone Electric and reject all bids. If this project is not constructed the WWTP could lose power to MCC-B5 in the West Mechanical Building due to the failing transformer.  The Headworks would also not have a reliable backup power source in the event of a plant wide power failure.
