This CTEP project will reconstruct the sidewalks, curb/gutter, landscaping and streetscaping features at the intersection of N. Broadway and 1st Avenue North adjacent to the Northern Hotel.   

The project was advertised on September 13th, 20th, 27th, and October 4th in the Billings Times and on the City's website.  Bids will be opened October 9th and by law, Council must act on the bid opening at this meeting.  The bids will be opened the same day as the Council meeting, so the bid recommendation will be made at the Council meeting.

The Council may:
• Award the contract as presented at the meeting; or
• Reject all bids.  If the contract is not awarded, the sidewalk adjacent to the Northern Hotel will not be restored and will not meet City Code.

This project is funded by CTEP and Zootist, the owners of the Northern Hotel.  Zootist has made a cash contribution to the City to cover their financial responsibility and to provide cash to construct the project.  Zootist will be reimbursed for the CTEP share of the project as the project progresses and CTEP sends reimbursement.  The City has no financial responsibility for this project.

Staff recommends that Council award a construction contract for W.O. 12-34, N. Broadway Sidewalks - Northern Hotel as presented at the meeting.
