Council is asked to consider amending the City's Professional Engineering Services Contract with Morrison-Maierle, Inc. (MMI) in the amount of $21,525.00 to include additional construction administration services associated with 17 days added to the Contractor's (Western Municipal Construction) construction contract by prior change order. Contract days were added to install over 200 feet of additional force main, to install an additional valve and to perform 'pigging' of the existing force mains. 

The Council may:

• Approve the contract amendment with MMI; or
• Do not approve the contract amendment with MMI.

If the proposed fee is not added to the Professional Engineering Services Contract, the City would not be in a position to follow-through with administering additional project construction approved by prior change order to the Construction Contract.

The funding for this project was approved by City Council in the FY12 Capital Improvement Plan and budget. The source is an Sate Revolving Fund loan to the wastewater fund. A summary of the funding is as follows:

Staff recommends that Council approve Amendment No. 2 to the City's contract with MMI for W.O. 12-05, 5-Mile Creek Lift Station Replacement Professional Engineering Services Contract in the amount of $21,525.00.
