PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Staff is requesting that the City Council consider authorizing and executing Contract Amendment No. 2 for Professional Services with Sanderson Stewart Engineering to provide construction staking and engineering support services for W.O. 09-12 Inner Belt Loop Phase I.
The original contract scope was for design and bidding services, but did not include construction staking or engineering support services during construction. Contract Amendment #1 was to modify the design to accommodate the phased approach to the project.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council may:
- Authorize Contract Amendment No. 2 with Sanderson Stewart Engineering in the amount of $62,000.00; or
- Do not authorize the Contract Amendment No. 2. If Council does not authorize Contract Amendment No. 2, the Contractor will need to perform construction staking, which will result in a change order under the construction contract.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for Contract Amendment No. 2 are available from Arterial Fee Funds budgeted in FY14. If approved, the Professional Services Contract with Sanderson Stewart will total $865,100.00.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council authorize Contract Amendment No. 2 with Sanderson Stewart in the amount of $62,000.00.
