PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Staff is requesting that the City Council consider authorizing and executing a Contract Amendment for Professional Services with HDR Engineering to provide design and construction administration services for W.O. 12-43 Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Backup Power Phase III. The purpose of this project is to provide backup power and electrical upgrades to the Voelker, Willett, Chapple, Staples, and Leavens Pump Stations in the City's water distribution system.
This Contract Amendment adds work that will provide space in the new motor control center (MCC) for a future blower feed, upsize the automatic transfer switch (ATS) to match the capacity of the new MCC, provide programming changes for the new backup power system, and reroute existing control circuits still in use to the new programmable logic control (PLC) cabinet.
