PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
On April 9, 2012, the City Council approved a five-year contract with Morrison-Maierle, Inc. to provide Civil Engineering services for the Airport, including project designs, surveys, development of project plans, specifications and bidding documents, and construction administration. The five-year term contract is amended each time a project is undertaken, and Amendment 10 for $192,278 includes the services listed above.
This Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funded project will rehabilitate 27,000 square feet of the 20 year old deteriorating asphalt ramp adjacent to the air carrier apron. The project will remove the old pavement, rebuild the aggregate sub-base, and repave 8 inches of asphalt. The project will also include maintenance repairs to Runway 7/25 for some abnormally large lateral asphalt cracks, the cost of which will be paid for with local funds. The scope of work and associated fees have been negotiated by staff and are acceptable for this engineering work.
