PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
A fee increase of approximately 5% (see attached resolution) in the Cemetery will raise approximately $5,000 in additional funds per year in an average Cemetery use year. Cemetery fees were last increased on July 1, 2011. The Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Board approved the FY 2014 Cemetery fee request at the February 12, 2014 board meeting. A presentation on the proposed increase was made to the City Council at the April 7, 2014 Work Session. The proposed fee increase is intended to start with the new fiscal year on July 1, 2014.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The City Council may approve or disapprove the fee increase. Approving the increase lessens the Cemetery's impact on the General Fund for its operations.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This proposal will raise general fund revenue approximately $5,000.
RECOMMENDATION
The Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Board recommends that the City Council approve the proposed resolution and fee increase.
