PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The Police Department received a $2,500 donation from the Sam's Club Foundation to help fund the cost of our School Resource Officer (SRO) training. Our SRO's have attended several training opportunities with the assistance of funding such as this. The Donor Verification Form is completed and on file at the City Clerk's Office.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The City Council may:
- Approve $2,500 donation from Sam's Club Foundation; or
- Not approve the $2,500 donation from Sam's Club Foundation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The donation from the Sam's Club Foundation will allow the SRO's to attend training that may not be funded through the regular city budget.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council is being asked to approve acceptance of the $2,500 donation from the Sam's Club Foundation for the School Resource Officer's Training.
