PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The Police Department is in the process of replacing older patrol cameras with cameras containing newer technology. These excess cameras are no longer a use to the Billings Police Department but are still functional in a smaller department. MSU-Billings Police Department has expressed a need for this equipment . Therefore, staff is requesting approval to donate eight (8) cameras and related equipment to the MSU-Billings Police Department.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the donation of eight cameras and related equipment to the MSU-Billings Police Department; or
- Not approve the donation of the cameras and related equipment to the MSU-Billings Police Department.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the donation of the outdated cameras and related equipment.
