PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
W.O. 16-02 Miscellaneous Concrete Project will construct concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and alley approaches throughout the city. The areas of work were developed by city staff recommendation, calls from the public, and identified tripping hazards. The project was advertised April 28th and May 5th and bids were opened on May 10th. There were two bidders and J & J Concrete, Inc. submitted the apparent low bid.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the bid award to J & J Concrete, Inc. in the amount of $287,150.00 or;
- Disapprove the bid award. If the contract is not awarded, the concrete work will not be done and areas that are failing will continue to fail and tripping hazards will not be repaired.
