PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The Mustangs have requested that funds from the Ballpark Permanent Fund be used to move a portion of the Dehler Park perimeter fencing to accommodate a zip line. The current agreement with the Mustangs requires that all expenditures of $10,000 or more from the Ballpark Permanent Fund be approved by City Council. The Permanent Fund is intended for major repairs and capital improvements to Dehler Park. Moving the fence will cost $10,995. There is currently $480,712.02 in the Ballpark Permanent Fund.
The Facility Review Committee recommends that the City use funds from the Ballpark Permanent Fund to move a portion of the perimeter fencing around the stadium to accommodate a proposed zip line to be provided by the Mustangs.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve expending $10,995 from the Dehler Park Permanent Fund, or;
- Disapprove the expenditure and provide guidance to staff.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are no additional financial impacts to the City.
RECOMMENDATION
