Maier Subdivision, which is located near the intersection of 48th Street West and Grand Avenue, was platted in 1982 and dedicated a street tract for Grand Avenue.  At the time of the subdivision plat, the County Commissioners never officially accepted the street tract. The County Commissioners have since accepted the street tract and have agreed to quitclaim the tract to the City of Billings. This tract will be essential for future widening of Grand Avenue.

City Council may:

• Accept the street tract, or;
• Do not accept the street tract. If not accepted, the portion of Grand Avenue will remain in county ownership.

There is no financial impact to the City with acceptance of the street tract.

Staff recommends that the City Council accept the quitclaim deed for the street tract within Maier Subdivision.
