The professional services contract with DOWL for design of Work Order 16-05 Central Avenue, Shiloh Road to 32nd Street West, was approved at the December 21, 2015, City Council Meeting.  This professional services contract amendment will provide for additional services needed to complete the design of the project.  New regulations that were not anticipated at the time of the original contract will be in place when the project begins construction.  These regulations include quality stormwater management and HAWK signals at multilane roundabouts.  The City is also requesting that DOWL add services to the contract to address items discovered during preliminary design.  These tasks include rehabilitating a sanitary sewer line underneath a proposed roundabout and adding bus turnouts/pads.

The Council may:

• Approve Professional Services Contract Amendment #3 in the amount of $47,460.00; or
• Do not approve Professional Services Contract Amendment #3 which would not allow this design to be completed.

This Contract Amendment #3 is for $47,460.00 and brings the total professional services contract with DOWL to $398,770.00.  Funding for this project is from property owner assessments, sewer, gas tax, and arterial funds.  There is sufficient funding in the budget for this amendment.

Staff recommends that City Council approve Professional Services Contract Amendment #3 with DOWL in the amount of $47,460.00 for W.O. 16-05, Central Avenue, Shiloh Road to 32nd Street West.
