PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Plans and specifications for constructing a new South Park Splash Pad were prepared and sent for bids on September 29, 2016. The bids were opened on October 25, 2016. State law requires the governing body to consider bids at the meeting immediately following a bid opening. Staff is requesting postponement of action for this item to the November 28, 2016 Council Meeting to give the consultant additional time to evaluate the bids and make a recommendation.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the staff recommendation to delay action on this item to the November 28, 2016 Council Meeting , or;
- Disapprove the staff recommendation and reject all bids.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There will be no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council postpone awarding a contract for the South Park Splash Pad to the November 28, 2016 meeting.
