PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Plans and specifications for the demolition of the Rose Park Pool Operations Building damaged by fire in March of this year were prepared and advertised for bids on December 1, 2016. The bids were opened on December 20, 2016. There were 4 bidders and Asphalt Plus, Inc. of Billings Montana is the apparent low bidder at $ 51,000.00. The bid tabulation is attached. Staff recommends Council approve the bid from Asphalt Plus, Inc. for the amount of $ 51,000.00. Demolition is scheduled to be completed on or before February 27th.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the staff recommendation to award the demolition contract to Asphalt Plus, Inc., or;
- Disapprove the staff recommendation and reject all bids.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for this project will come from Park District #1.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Council award the contract for demolition of the existing Rose Park Pool Operations Building to Asphalt Plus, Inc. for $ 51,000.00.
