Yellowstone Kelly Interpretive Site Change Order #5 (attached) would add the following elements to the project:

• Additional donor names and mount (3)
• Stain alternate path
• One coat seal of alternate path

The total cost of the proposed additions is $6,215.00, bringing the total project contract price to $535,773.44.  The cost of the additions is being covered by funds raised by the Greater Billings Area Chamber of Commerce.  The Chamber informed staff that the funds to cover Change Order #5 have been transferred to the Parks, Recreation and Preservation Foundation and will be forwarded on to the City upon approval of the Change Order. 

City Council may:

• Approve Change Order #5;
• Postpone action on the Change Order, delaying construction of those improvements; or
• Disapprove Change Order #5, which would mean the additions would not be built or would have to be funded by the City.

If Change Order #5 and the Chamber donation are accepted, there should be no additional construction costs to the City.  The City Parks and Recreation Department will be responsible for maintaining the site in the future, however.

Staff recommends that the City Council approve Change Order #5 for $6,215 to add improvements at the Yellowstone Kelly Interpretive Site.
