PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT

Staff opened bids on August 14, 2018, for W.O. 17-20, Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations Backup Power Contract. There were three bids and Intermountain Electric Service, Inc. submitted the lowest responsible bid. This project will install natural gas backup generators at 3 sanitary sewer lift stations (Ironwood, Lloyd Mangrum, Shiloh crossing).  The contract was advertised on July 20th, 27th, and August 3rd, 10th in The Yellowstone County News and on the City's website.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED

The Council may:
  • Award W.O. 17-20 Lift Station Backup Power to Intermountain Electric Service, Inc. in the amount of $129,329.51; or
  • Not award the contract to Intermountain Electric Service, Inc. and reject all bids. If the contract is not awarded, the backup generators cannot be installed and lift station pumps cannot operate in the event of an electrical power outage.
