The northwest elevator located at Park 2, 2651 1st Ave. N, requires an elevator car lift (hydraulic jack) replacement and rerouting of the oil line.  This elevator has been out of service for several months and, although there are two additional elevators at Park 2, the northwest elevator being inoperable greatly inconveniences the public especially for disabled customers and employees in the Wells Fargo tower.  The Parking Division did not include this expense in the FY2019 due to not knowing the exact cost for the repair. Kone, who maintains the elevators for the Parking Division, stated that the northwest elevator could not be used until it is repaired. The oil line must be rerouted to reduce the threat of an underground oil leak.

City Council may:

• Approve the low bid and award the contract to Thyssenkrupp Elevator or;
• Reject all bids and provide additional guidance to staff.

On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, the following bids were received:

This project was not included in the FY2019 budget resulting in a possible request for a budget amendment for FY2019.

Staff recommends that the City Council award a contract for replacement of the hydraulic cylinder and rerouting of the oil line with Thyssenkrupp for a total of $105,000.00.
