PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The purpose of this agreement is for the City of Billings to implement projects to restore, replace, rehabilitate, or acquire the equivalent of natural resources and services injured or lost due to the July 1, 2011, ExxonMobil Pipeline Company Yellowstone River Oil Spill. The agreement between the City of Billings and the State of Montana Department of Justice, Natural Resource Damage Program (NRDP) is for grant funding to implement the eight approved projects.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the agreement between the State of Montana, Department of Justice, Natural Resource Damage Program and the City of Billings, or;
- Disapprove and provide Staff guidance on how to proceed.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Total budget for all eight proposed and funded projects is $1,402,453 in grant funding from the NRDP; no City matching funds are required.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the agreement between the State of Montana, Department of Justice, Natural Resource Damage Program and the City of Billings.
