PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
On June 23, 2010, Wal-Mart verified their donation of $500.00 in cash to the Fire Department for the purchase of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that will be distributed to families and individuals who cannot afford to purchase their own.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council may:
- Accept the $500 donation from Wal-Mart; or
- Not accept the $500 donation from Wal-Mart.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends acceptance of the $500.00 donation from Wal-Mart, 1649 Main Street, for the purchase of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
