PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Staff received and opened bids on February 26, 2019 to purchase a new Tank Truck for the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department. Staff advertised for sealed bids on February 15, and February 22, 2019. This purchase is included in the FY 2019 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP) and the FY 2019 budget for the Solid Waste Division. The City received one bid from Kois Brother's Equipment Co. and the bid was within the estimated replacement cost.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve purchasing the new Tank Truck from Kois Brothers Equipment Co., or;
- Disapprove the purchase and reject the bid.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
One bid was received of $79,658.00, plus 5-year warranty of $2,750.00, for a total of $82,408.00. There is no trade-in. Sufficient funds are available in the Solid Waste fund for this purchase,
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council award the bid for a new Tank Truck to Kois Brothers Equipment Co., in the amount of $82,408.00. This includes the Tank Truck and a five-year warranty.
