PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The Dehler Park Facility Committee has determined that the ballpark videoboard is in need of replacement and has earmarked funds to do so. The invitation for bids for the videoboard replacement project was advertised in the Yellowstone County News on March 29th and April 5th, and was posted on the City's website. Bids were received on April 9 from the following companies:
With the modifications, the Daktronics bid remains the lowest at $238,085.00.
- Daktronics - $228,950.00
- Sign Products - $302,174.00
- Peerless AV - $269,000.00
- NEVCO - $472,220.75
With the modifications, the Daktronics bid remains the lowest at $238,085.00.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Award the contract to Dakotronics for $238,085.00, or;
- Reject the staff recommendation and award to another company, or;
- Disapprove award, reject all bids and delay the project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Ballpark Repair Fund, which has been established with Mustang lease payments and contributions from the City, has the funds available for this purchase. Following the approval of this contract, a budget amendment will be submitted to Council for approval, as the budget for this project has not been included in the FY19 budget, but the funds are available.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends City Council award a contract for the Ballpark Videoboard replacement project to Dakotronics in the amount of $238,085.00.
