PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
One bid in the amount of $234,433.00 was received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on October 29, 2019 to purchase a 2019 patching unit. This purchase will replace the existing unit 1207, 2006 Sterling pothole patcher, that is included in the FY 20 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP). Street/Traffic will keep unit 1207 since there was $0.00 offered for trade and will sell the existing patching unit or send it to auction. While there was only one bid, this bid is in the range that was estimated in the ERP and within the budgeted amount in the FY 20 budget.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve purchasing the patching unit, or;
- Disapprove the purchase. The existing unit is nearing the end of its useful life.
