PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Billings Parks and Recreation recently received confirmation of a $5,000 grant award from the Treacy Foundation in Helena, MT; whose focus “is to support Capital Campaigns and Bricks/Mortar” projects in Montana. The $5,000 will be used to augment the $12,000 already raised by the Friends of Billings Dog Parks to purchase and construct one of five planned steel shade structures in the new Centennial Park Dog Park Area. The Treacy Grant Funds bring us closer to the $22,000 estimated cost of the project.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Accept the grant/donation from the Treacy Foundation, or;
- Not accept the donation
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no budget/financial impact from this action.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council accept this grant/donation of $5,000.00 from the Treacy Foundation.
